Tileset- Siberia
Map size- 36 x 12
Max. players- 8
Min. RAM- 64 MB
TA:CC or TA:BT is required
Latest version of TAMEC.hpi is recommended

Installation-
extract all files into your default TA directory. Files that should have been extracted are:
aggiornamento.ufo - main map file
aggiornamento.txt - readme file
aggiornamento.bmp - radar image

Description-
This is the Kingdom of Siberia, with all of its history, with all of its glory, and with all
of its destruction. Siberia has gone through three main time periods; Medieval - an age of
castles and choatic sorcerers, Metropolitan - an age of giant cities and thriving culture,
Apocalypse - an age of total war and annihilation.

The eight starting positions for this map are spread across the three ages. Each position
is very different from almost every other position, but the amount and location of
resources, and the area of space space balances every position. There are plenty of metal
ores hidden in forests. Be careful though, forests will also burn, and fire can spread quite
a bit. You will be able to use a variety of strategies on this map because of its size and
its complex mazelike construction. Don't get lost, and keep in mind that your mission is to
annihilate.

Skirmish and Multiplayer-
This map can support up to eight players. I suggest that you play with all eight starting
positions (or at least six), or the map will be pretty empty in the middle. To get the
maximum number of starting positions in skirmish, type 'X in the battle room. Because the
starting positions are very different from one another, I suggest that you use random
starting positions. For team play, it's best to have teams of two.

Detailed Review
(General-Jason):
In this corner, weighing in at 7.5 mb, Aaaaaggiornamentoooo by Maverick, And in this corner, weighing in at a 10 kb or so, the reeeeeviewwwwww. Ok, so its been a long day for me, I guess I will shut up and get on with the review now...
Graphics: This chilly landscape is composed of Maverick's Siberia tile set with urban, lava and MB sections as well. With the Siberia tile set as a background the lava surfaces more in the eastern portion of the map with the military base in the maps western half. 2 small small urban settlements run down the maps centre. The geographical layout and terrain was great, but the map fell a bit with the feature placement. There were quite a few areas where the forests edges were rather hard and jagged, not very natural. Other than that, graphically its solid.

Mechanics: I saw what a map author rarely does. Use voiding. The voiding around the MB tiles was a great addition to the map and upped the mechanics score a point. Asides from that, no real errors. Bravo Maverick, Bravo.

Game Play: One thing that surprised me was how short the battle was. Even though my battles were around a hour long they didn't seem like it. A good sign if ya ask me. Means that it was an enjoyable fight, and not a boring and painful struggle. Moving on... I was able to hold off the AI with a number of level 1 ground troops. A attack was almost out of the question because the AI's base was easily porkable. All my attempts at a raid failed miserably. That is, until this commander took to the air. The AI had a solid defence for marauding tanks and k-bots, but skimped on its air defences. I sent in a squad of about 35 Rapier gun ships and started to tear apart the AI's base structure, but structure. At least until I found the commander. After that it was more like one big boom, then hunting down and destroying lone metal extractor and construction units. Another tactic that proved to be effective is flanking the enemy with lots of light level 1 units then sending your aircraft in to pound the base while the AI's guns are busy pounding your cannon fodder.
Now that you know some ways to level your opponent, you might want to know a few defensive tips. What I found to be most effective for defence was 8 level 1 plants churning out Raiders, Slashers, Crashers, and Thuds to throw at your enemy. That's just what I like to do, defences are too short ranged for my tastes and the AI seem to always be able to hit your units without seeing them. That's why I like a mobile defence more. Rather effective too if you think about it, instead of your opponent throwing its forces against your defences, getting the odd unit through, you can surround, and pound your enemy far away from your base. I also like doing similar things with air units, 10-15 vamps patrolling around your base can chew up most anything, except a bigger force of stealth fighters. You wont really need to worry that much about an AI air assault. they will send in a few brawlers once in a while, but it really is a pathetic attempt. 3 brawlers against 25 missile towers and 4 flack guns? I don't think so...
Now let me blab on about the resources. Although player 2 has a better, more easily defendable base, player 1 seems to get a bit more in the way of resources. The starting point for player 1 is a lot closer to the urban centre giving the options to reclaim the large buildings for even more metal. The natural resources are rather even and in good quantities. Both energy and metal, you shouldn't have may problems here. Wind is available here, a bit more powerful than normal at times, but I just don't like using wind generators, energy lulls are a real pain.

Recommendation's
To Author: Dont stop mapping. Even if you do you will come back anyway. I know I did.

Overall: Its a good map. For the most part, nice graphics, good game play, and great mechanics. What are ya waiting for? Download this beast and go slaughter the Arm!
