Map Name: Deathmatch
Map Type: Metal
Map Size: 5x5
AI: Not intended for Skirmish Play (In otherwords, don't ask me!)
Blah blah blah blah
Open the map in Annihilator if you want more info on the specs.

I made Deathmatch with one goal. A map designed for the Commander Ends situation, DEATHMATCH. Now, you've all read about it in the manual, or seen it passed between Continues and Ends. How many of you have played it? More to the point, how many of you have played Deathmatch games? Myself, and a few of my friends love DMs. We try to play at least one a day. But, there was never a perfect map. Metal Heck is good, because if you have to respawn, you can get restarted quickly. But, the drawbacks are huge bases, and even bigger armies. I've literally hit unit max (500 for me) in Deathmatch games on MH. Another good map is Darkside. Small, quick, easy on the processor. But, too featureless. Too easy to get into the other guys base. Metal was also severly in demand. Another favorite is Sherwood. But, alas, that maps just too damned big. Big bases are also common there. So, I set out to design the PERFECT deathmatch map. Good metal, but not too much. Good base areas, but not enough room for HUGE bases. The solution for the metal problem was simple enough. Make it on a metal world! So, metal map it was. Metal values are low, 1-1.3 (I forget which really =) Wind values are low. Solar is normal. But, theres alittle pool in the middle of the map. That little pool gives out 30+ energy per tick tidal ;) Use it wisely. Player 1 has the advantage in that. With fixed positions, Player 1 starts in the pool. But, because hes in the middle, he is completely surrounded by all the other players. Now, the map is designed for upto 5 or 6 players nominal. But, I have added the other 4 player spots. I find that because of the map size, there simply isn't enough room for all of them to be happy, so some of the player starts could get kind of hectic, if there are more than 6 players. 5 is my best recomendation.

Well, you know all the background, now watch your dgun, you don't want to shoot your neighbors commander now, do you =)
BTW, All of the walls are voided, so if you're thinking of running a squad of thuds right up the wall and taking up the other guys comm from a hill, think again. Oh, and, one more thing. The lower left has more room than the others, but one of his steam vents is partialy blocked off. Just alittle FYI.

Have A Nice Day!

Thanks to beta testers NevNiv, ISJX_V4C (Estrella), and ForfeitTyrant for pointing out height problems, and helping me to fix the metal values and fix up the metor storms.
