Background:

Commander Marcus Jacobs sighed as he read his assignment, remembering that the heater in the commander suit was less than adequate at times. He was interested in this new planet, Hilon, which apparently was an ancient Arm civilized outpost.
"If only Core hadn't reached Calibran and destroyed all the data about our occupied planets, we might know who these people were and what happened to them," Marcus thought to himself. "Well," he said, looking down to his atomic watch, "time to go find out."
Marcus walked out of his bunker, taking a deep breath of air and sighed again, reminding himself that it was too cold on Hilon to get out of the Commander suit, let alone actually breathe air on it. He reached the suit and took the auto-ladder into the torso, where he would live for the next 6 months. As he powered the suit up and went towards the Galactic Gate, auxilary cameras showed a beautiful, firey sunset backdropping the units saluting him. Marcus turned and raised the right arm, firing the d-gun into the sky, to signal good luck as he and a small force stepped into the clear portal.
Suddenly, everything around him warped and accelerated, stars becoming infinite streaks of light and galaxies appearing to be abstract art. Marcus felt various points of gravity from all around him as they pulled slightly on his body. He could do nothing but look forward, as thirty-seven light years of distance traveled by in less than ten seconds.
And as quick as it began, it was over. Greeted by the night-time lights from the primary outpost on Hilon, he was stunned to watch the temperature gauge drop. First, from the optimum gold, then orange, yellow, green, purple, blue, and then to black.
"From 79 to 151 below zero?!? You gotta be kidding me! No wonder why they made us pack up so many surface area heaters."
The heaters may make the units a little bulky, but if that's what it takes to survive, then Marcus didn't have a problem with it. But he did have a problem with nearly everything else, since it was harder to extract metal and reclaim. Solar power wasn't a decision, due to the clouds above him that were so thick that only a comet could penetrate them. The ground was so solidly frozen that the enormous pressure on the surface cracked and broke apart, creating fissures and steamvents. And the wind screamed at high speeds and threatened to tip any unit that wasn't calculating balance over.
Marcus went towards the center of the base, as the wind blew the steam from the heaters around him, making the forty-four foot tall commander look even more god-like. He noticed the microwave relays and atmospheric optimizers completely encased in ice, and wondered what this place looked like before the supposed nuclear war rid the planet of sunlight.
"So," Marcus broadcasted to the second in command construction vehicle, "people told me Hilon would be cold, but this is ridiculous."
The clone inside chuckled, "Yeah, a six month assignment where you can't step outside is kind of vague huh?"
"I'll deal with it." said Marcus, as he connected to the regional energy and radar up-links.
The commander fought to keep his balance, as a blizzard rolled in, and could barely see in front of himself. But he couldn't worry about something as little as that, since there were many other things that could kill him.
Hilon may have been a beautiful planet at some point, but Marcus made no mistake in remembering that it was now a battlefield. And a battle with the Core was immenent.

Notes

Map size: 12 x 12
Requirements: Core Contingency, Tamec Hpi2000, absolute minimum of 32 megs of ram.
Number Of Players: 4 only

This map uses Urban, Lava, and Siberian tileset features. TAMEC HPI2000 required. This map is surprisingly flexible, being either a fast paced map or a drawn out map. This is not meant to be a rush to the middle type--the middle is meant as a staging area only. It is too hard to defend against constant pressure unless you got a lotta units with you or you're just damn good since there are so many angles of attack. There are few metal deposits, so reclaim the buildings wisely or you'll have to wait for someone lose their units in front of your base. You may notice that the map is nearly completely flat---I had problems with the height differences between the two tilesets (the urban parts were islands...lol,) but after all, this is my first map. I've played the finished version about 15 times through and through...so if there are any problems, im sorry i missed them/was too lazy.

P.S. - Special thanks to my friends FAS-Falcon, Delta 6, and FAS-Cow (Padington) and pi_3.141592654 for input and shiznit. Starting positions: (player)1: Top Left 2: Bottom Right 3: Top Right 4: Bottom Left. Wind Speed: 19-20+ (better bargain than solar) and i dont recommend anything less than 64 megs of ram, cuz this puppy loads s-l-o-w-l-y.
