Floodplain Type: TA Map World: Terragen Created by: AndrewAce3158 Requirements: None Recommendations for AI: Core Contingency, 3.1 patch, extra Cavedog units Players: 2, 4(2v2), 6(3v3) Map Size: 16 x 12 Memory: 64MB File Size: 20.2MB --General A grassland obstructed by shallow pools of water. This map was rendered using Terragen, which is the reason for the large file size. The map is symetrical, both in layout and features, so gameplay is even. --Resources Wind is a valuable resource on this map. The energy output varies from 10.5 to 21. There is a geothermal vent in each quarter of the map, and one in the middle. If energy still becomes a problem, you can always suck up some trees for 250 at a time. Metal is spead out and consists mostly of medium sized patches, forcing you to expand to get resources. --Strategy Almost any strategy goes here. Mobile units can wade through the water, but are dramatically slower and become easy targets for base defenses. Pelicans and hovercraft aren't slowed by the water, so become partly more useful. With extended travel times between metal, an early bomber rush could cripple an opponent. To save as much precious building space as possible, build your MT fields on the water. High gravity here reduces the range of plasma cannons. Only the long range variety are worth building. --Artificial Intelligence This map uses its own AI profile. It will use only the most effective units. It's first attack will hit you after anywhere between 8 and 15 minutes. --Tools Used • Terragen - terrain design and rendering • Annihilator - map editing • TAFP - feature placement • TAE - start position editing • HPI View/Pack - many functions ReadMe last modified: 02/02/05 For more information visit: http://andrewace3158.tauniverse.com or alternatively: www.geocities.com/andrewace3158 |
