Despite being my third released map, this was actually the first major map I
ever created using POV-Ray (http://www.povray.org/). Its taken a while to
release as I've had problems getting the file size down. The original map was
40MB uncompressed, but this has now been significantly reduced.

This map took a long time to design, I even had to produce a few sketches to
make sure everything lined up. The rendering time was actually only around 1.5
hours, significantly less than my previous two maps ('Mesas' and 'Low Tide'),
but then its geometry is a lot simpler than either of its predecessors.

Is the map a port or is it a fort? Well its both a port and fort, a fortified
port if you like, resulting in the name pfort. The asymmetrical map design
results in a north vs south game where each side has to use slightly different
tactics to win. I couldn't say whether one side has a significant advantage
over the other. The north side has the port itself and some fortifications
closer to the centre of the map. The south side has a fort, but in my view has
better control of the two fordable crossings in the river.

Enjoy,
